My Story​

Hi, I'm Lisa Mamounas! Welcome to my art world! I am an intuitive abstract artist, and I began painting in 2017 after losing my father. While going through his things I found his artwork supplies and decided I would try to put them to good use. His loss hit me like a ton of bricks. Just when I thought it couldn't get any tougher, my 3 children were going out on their own. I felt like my whole world was turning upside down. That's when I stumbled upon my dad's old painting supplies. Suddenly those paint brushes and paints weren't just tools— they were like a life line. 

Painting became my escape, my way of dealing with all the emotions swirling inside me. It was like my dad was right there with me, guiding my hand as I used his brushes. They even smelled like him and his house. Tears streamed down my face, I laughed and cried. Each stroke felt like a step towards healing, a way of honoring his memory while finding myself in the chaos of it all. I began entering art shows, getting gallery invites, selling my work worldwide, shortly after starting my art practice. Painting has been a transformative experience for me!
